Health Care Provider Committee Members
The Canadian Medication Appropriateness and Deprescribing Network (CADeN) is actively seeking 2 to 3 new members to join its Health Care Provider Committee.
What are the goals of the CADeN Health Care Provider Committee?
The CADeN Health Care Provider Committee aims to:
Enhance capacity for deprescribing among health care providers
Raise deprescribing as a priority among health care providers
Promote inclusion of deprescribing in health professions education
What do CADeN’s Health Care Provider Committee members do?
Members of the Health Care Provider Committee play an important role in raising awareness of and enhancing capacity for deprescribing among health care providers by:
Contributing to the development and promotion of educational resources related to deprescribing,
Advocating for curricular inclusion of deprescribing in their practice or academic setting,
Presenting deprescribing to other health care providers and educators at national conferences or webinars,
Fostering connections with health care organizations and academic institutions to promote medication safety and deprescribing on a larger scale.

What interests and experiences are required to be a Health Care Provider Committee Member?
We are seeking practicing clinicians or educators of different health professions (medicine, pharmacy, nursing, allied health care professionals) who champion the safe and appropriate use of medications. Additional educational experience and connections with Canadian health organisations are an asset. Furthermore, as part of its commitment to decolonization, Indigenization and integration of diverse perspectives into its activities, the Health Care Provider Committee is actively seeking candidates who:
Specialise in family medicine; or
Are allied health professionals (e.g., psychology, dentistry, physiotherapy); and/or
Are members of an Indigenous community in Canada and who are interested in sharing their lived experience and knowledge to inform and enrich the Committee’s work.
Duration of term
Committee membership term is for two years; membership is renewable.
Financial compensation
Financial compensation will not be offered for being a committee member.

Interested in joining CADeN’s Health Care Provider Committee?
Candidates are invited to submit their CV along with a brief written statement (approximately 250 words) 1) describing how they actively champion appropriate use of medications and deprescribing in their clinical practice, academic work, and/or professional network, and 2) explaining how they would contribute to the committee.
